From Interior Design to Home Staging: If you love homes, architecture or design, then you too may have a similar story. I grew up flipping through the pages of Elle Décor, House Beautiful, Traditional Home and many other home décor magazines. Seeing all of the new furniture trends, seasonal color palettes and the items the hot designers couldn’t live without would make my day. Every trip to the grocery store meant I had to have a new home décor magazine.
At home my mother would sketch furniture layouts for our weekend DIY projects. After the design was decided we were off to Joann’s Fabric & Craft Store. There we found plenty of fabric for drapery treatments and throw pillows. The next stop was Home Depot to buy paint to try a new color or a new painting technique. Eventually, I would frequently repaint and restyle my room throughout high school and college. My friends would often say, “Andrea if you change your room one more time…” I guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
I went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from The Art Institute of Philadelphia and jumped right into the industry. My first job out of college was at Duralee Fabrics at the Washington Design Center around the economic crash in 2008. Eager to find a way to use my talent to fix a problem I came across Home Staging. It matched my love of decor so I took courses to become accredited and I hit the ground running. As an Accredited Staging Professional and HSR Certified Stager & Redesigner, I am happy to transform your listing into a desirable, warm and welcoming house that home buyers can’t live without!
